Over the weekend, Nuguse shared a photo of himself and his beau and wrote in the caption:

"Introducing my boyfriend, Julian. Can’t believe we’re already one year in my love."

In March 2025, Nuguse set a new indoor mile world record, clocking 3:46.63 at the Millrose Games in New York and surpassing the previous record held since 2019.

In June 2024, Nuguse signed with Grand Slam Track (GST), Olympic gold champion Michael Johnson's innovative track league designed to maintain the sport's momentum beyond the Olympics.

Nuguse was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to Ethiopian parents. The 25-year-old is the fourth of six children.

With aspirations of becoming an orthodontist, Nuguse graduated in 2021 with a bachelor's in biochemistry and in 2022 with a master's degree in management.

He ultimately put aside his dental career to focus on professional running and has been winning at life ever since.

Welcome to the community, Yared! And happy one-year anniversary to you and your adorable Julian.❀
