TikToker @gvizzle_74 was left unsettled after witnessing a woman at the grocery store ask permission from her male partner to do even the simplest of tasks—and viewers had different ideas of what could be going on.

A woman on TikTok went viral after sharing her "ick" experience at the grocery store.

TikToker @gvizzle_74 explained to viewers after she got back to her car that she had just witnessed the most extreme display of submission from a woman she had ever seen.

She went on to say she overheard a woman asking her partner for permission to do any sort of task, even one as small as leaving the cart with him.

The creator began her video:

"I need your opinion on something."
"I just witnessed a couple's interaction at the grocery store and I...I haven't even left the parking lot I'm still in my car."
"I could not wait to get to my car fast enough to find out if it's just me and I'm reading too much into it or ..."

She continued:

"Like if icks were Skittles, I just tasted the f**king rainbow. You know what I'm saying?"
"And maybe I need to set some context, 'cause when my husband and I go to the grocery store together, which isn't often, it's 'can you go grab that thing for me over there please? I'll be back in a minute, I'm gonna get this thing over here."

She then recounted the couple's interactions.

"So this couple, they're beside me and she said 'may I go get the cake please?' And then she waited for him to say yes."
"And then she said 'may I leave the cart with you please?' And then again she waited for him to say yes and there was just some, like...oh I hated it so much..."
"And if that's what makes them happy that's fine. Live your life...ewww."

Like why is she asking him for permission? I’m still unsettled. #opinion #couples #relationship #ick #justme #relationships

People in the comments certainly had their theories.

Some believed it was some form of dominant/subservient fantasy played out in a grocery store.

Some thought the woman may be in an abusive relationship.

And many shared that their shopping experiences with their significant others are quite different from the one the TikToker observed.

But they could all agree the behavior was "ick."

While we, too, would be rather disturbed to witness such a display in public, we do hope the behavior was just a "kink" and nothing more.
