Model and actress Vivica A. Fox had some strong words about Jada Pinkett Smith’s statement regarding her husband’s infamous Oscar’s slap.

In case you need a reminder, Pinkett Smith’s husband, Oscar winner Will Smith, slapped comedian and presenter Chris Rock after he made a joke about Pinkett Smith.

As a consequence, Smith has been banned from attending Academy Award ceremonies for the next ten years.

Since the February incident, people have been on the edge of their seats, waiting for any of the parties involved to comment in depth about what went down.

As promised, Pinkett Smith finally addressed the controversy on her Red Table Talk show.

Regarding the incident, Pinkett said:

“Now, about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile.”
“The state of the world today, we need them both, and we all actually need one another more than ever.”
“Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together.”

Fox took issue with the actress’s “cold” and “self-righteous” comments.

She said as much when she was asked about it on The Wendy Williams Show last Thursday.

Fox said:

“Will Smith was defending her honor, that’s the reason he walked on stage and slapped because he felt like his wife had been offended."
"So for me, I see no accountability as a partner..."
“Also, let’s not forget, Chris Rock was assaulted. We cannot forget that for basically telling a joke that I really felt wasn’t that bad."

Having starred with Smith in the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day and Set It Off with Pinkett Smith that same year, Fox mentioned she knows the Smith’s personally.

“I have love for the Smiths. I know their children. I’ve watched them grow up."
"I just wish we could have had just a little more accountability and for it to not seem so self-righteous on Jada’s part, and that’s my feelings.”

The clip has been posted to The Wendy Williams Show’s Instagram account, where many agreed with Fox.

But others felt Fox was being overly dramatic about the incident, as Fox said it "made her cry."

Since the Oscars, Chris Rock has only alluded to to the slap, while Smith has only issued a statement on his ban from the Oscars.
