Eating dog food for its high protein content has become the newest craze on TikTok.
If you've been struggling to hit your protein goals and are considering trying TikTok's latest trend by eating dog food to reach them... just. don't.
Take it from @henry.fit who promised his followers he would eat dog food to make gains if he got 15,000 likes on his video below.
Well, the people spoke - or clicked - and Henryfit stayed true to his word. The video quickly went viral, being viewed more than 20 million times and garnering a whopping 2.5 million likes, far exceeding the 15k threshold.
In his part 2 video, Henryfit partook of the kibble and quickly realized it was not the idea way to pack in the protein.

The TikToker told New York Post:
"I definitely wouldn't do it again. Even if dog food has high protein content, it's definitely not worth it."
"I would totally rather [have] a nice steak."
A spokesperson for dog food company PEDIGREE told The Post:
"PEDIGREE dog food is formulated for dogs."
"While the food would not be harmful if a human consumed it, we do not recommend pet food for human consumption."
