After TikToker @shannonschmidtmn posted a viral video of some young Swifties attempting to figure out how to get their '1989 (Taylor's Version)' CD out of its case, the video was even liked by Swift herself.

Ever since her emergence onto the music scene as a teenager, Taylor Swift has enjoyed a sizable following of fans (or "Swifties") young and old.

Swift is currently the most streamed female artist on Spotify, but some of her older fans found themselves in for a nostalgic treat with the release of 1989 (Taylor's Version), which has also been made available on vinyl, CD, and cassette.

While Swift has released previous albums in various formats (Midnights is available in five different CD editions), it's safe to say that younger Swifties still seem to enjoy her primarily on Spotify.

This became apparent in a hilarious recent video showing three young Swifties unable remove a CD from its case.

Initially posted to the TikTok account @shannonschmidtmn (no longer public), the 34-second clip was subsequently shared to the Taylor Swift fan page @swifferupdates on X (formerly Twitter).

Introduced with the title "Baby Swifties learning what a CD is," the video shows three young ladies valiantly struggling to remove the CD from its case.

One of the young girls seemed convinced that the center nob was a button to eject the CD. Another seemed to think rotating the disc would do it. And a third could be heard expressing her fears that they would break the disc.

Before too long, the woman recording the video (presumably the mother of one or more of the young girls) was unable to hide her amusement, telling the girls:

"You guys are making me laugh, because this is how we listened to music."

Eventually, with a little help from the woman behind the camera, the girls collectively discovered that pressing the center button and giving the disc a slight pull was all it took to liberate the disc from its case.

When the disc was finally removed from the case, one of the girls could be heard triumphantly declaring:

"I knew that was a button!"

Needless to say, several of the video's 1.2 million viewers couldn't contain their amusement at how a task that was once second nature to everyone now seemed impossible.

Others couldn't help but take a moment to reflect on how relatively old they are.

Also apparently amused by the video was Taylor Swift herself!

The fan account @swifferupdates shared in the post's caption that the 12-time Grammy-winning star liked the video when it was initially posted to TikTok.

One thing the video did not make clear: did these young girls have anything they could use to play the CD?

Don't be surprised by a follow-up video showing their confusion over how to work a CD player!

Trump Demands Beyoncé Be Prosecuted For Debunked Accusation She Was Paid Millions To Endorse Harris

Desperate times call for desperate measures, so MAGA Republican President Donald Trump is now recycling some prior false claims to try to distract his supporters away from the debacle of his Epstein files cover-up that has taken over his presidency.

While in Scotland over the weekend, Trump regurgitated an already debunked claim about Beyoncé and called for her and other Black celebrities to be prosecuted for something that never happened and that wouldn’t be illegal even if it had.

Did you know that you used to be able to walk unguided on the interior stairs to or from the top of the Washington Monument in Washington D.C.? My Mother did it twice in the early and mid 1960s.

The 896 steps of the Washington Monument's interior stairs were always intended to be seen, with commemorative stones—193 in total—on the walls along the route. States, cities, foreign nations, businesses, labor unions, and civic organizations provided stones as part of fundraising efforts to complete the monument or for later renovations.
