Reporter's Attempt At Going Down Milwaukee Ballpark Slide Ends In Multiple Broken Bones

Dodgers Broadcaster David Vassegh was with the Dodgers for a game in Milwaulkee on August 17.

While there he was invited to try out the Brewer's mascot's famous home-run slide—a.k.a. Bernie’s Chalet.

It...didn't go as intended.

Vassegh picked up speed on the slide, eventually crashing into a wall at the bottom, breaking his arm and some ribs.

Fellow Dodgers' broadcasters Joe Davis and Nomar Garciaparra found it difficult to keep a straight face when playing the clip.

Immediate reactions were a little abashed at finding humor in Vassegh's pain.

Vassegh should make a full recovery.

So baseball Twitter took this golden opportunity to indulge in one of America's other favorite pastimes—making jokes and memes.

They proposed a whole new show just about Vassegh trying things he's ill-equipped to do.

Does baseball Twitter have a Vassegh death wish‽‽

Baseball being baseball, jokes about other teams were quick to pop up.

Or just jokes about baseball in general.

Vassegh got the last word, though.

Wishing him a very speedy recovery, but maybe next time go with the stunt double.

We can't all be Jackie Chan.
