Vanessa Hudgens' Reaction To Report Her Ex Austin Butler's 'Elvis' Voice May Be Permanent Goes Viral

The 'High School Musical' star, who dated Butler for about nine years, needed just one word to respond to a 'Page Six' article claiming the accent was 'genuine.'

The 2022 film Elvis finished wrapping in March of 2021, but many fans have pointed out that star Austin Butler's Presley drawl hasn't left the building.

The actor recently took home the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama motion picture, but it seems like his voice during his acceptance speech is what everyone else took away.

Butler's speech is below - you be the judge.

Butler's ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, with whom he had a relationship for roughly nine years, did not hold back in her social media reaction to a recent report claiming the voice may, in fact, be permanent.

On Thursday, the High School Musical star commented on an Instagram post that said Butler's Elvis accent is "genuine" and "not put on," per his voice coach.

Hudgens simply commented:

"Crying"

Some viewers of the comment were all shook up over the Tick, Tick...Boom! actor's cattiness.

Others said don't be cruel.

Given the pair's continued friendship - the comment was all in good fun.

Of course, many suspicious minds have noticed that Butler does sound more like the King of Rock and Roll than his pre-Presley portraying self.

Butler's voice coach Irene Bartlett told ABC Gold Coast:

"I don't know how long [Butler's Elvis accent] will last or if it's going to be there forever."

Butler himself told reporters after the Golden Globes:

"I don't think about it. I don't think that I sound like him still."
"But I guess I must because I hear it a lot."

He continued:

"I often liken it to when somebody lives in another country for a long time."
"I had three years where [Elvis] was my only focus in life, so I'm sure there's just pieces of my DNA that will always be linked in that way."

It sounds like Butler may be staying in Graceland for a while.
