Tyler Perry has touched many lives through his films, but this time he used his own actions as the vehicle for spreading love.

Perry is known for his comedic Madea series as well as films like For Colored Girls and Diary of a Mad Black Woman.

However, his latest venture had nothing to do with filmmaking.

Instead, Perry stepped off the set to spread holiday joy in the most amazing way.

In his Twitter video, Perry explains why he's reaching out to fans in the first place.

"Trying to do this anonymously but, um, due to some circumstances y'all know how nothing stays secret these days. So, I just wanted to go ahead and tell you."

He went on to detail his anonymous deed.

"If you have a layaway at the Walmart at 844 Cleveland Avenue in East Point, Georgia — in Atlanta — or if you have a layaway at the Walmart at 7001 Concourse Parkway in Douglasville, Georgia — if you have a layaway at either place and it was in there as of 9:30 this morning, it was already in layaway before 9:30 this morning — I have paid for all of your layaways for Christmas."

Perry concluded the video saying that all people needed to do to get their layaway items was to pay one penny. He said that he understood that times can be tough during this time of year and that he was just grateful to be in a position to do such a deed.

For those unfamiliar with layaway, the program allows people to purchase items they might not be able to afford in full by putting down a deposit and making payments on the item.

LeMia Jenkins, a spokesperson for Walmart, revealed that Perry's gift equaled $434,000.

"Tyler Perry's generous donation is making an unbelievable difference for so many families, and we can't thank him enough for his kindness," she said in a statement. "The heartfelt excitement and joy we're seeing from our customers as a result of his holiday gift has been touching."

Walmart also took the opportunity to thank Perry for his act of kindness.

People are in awe of Perry's generosity.

What an amazing way to spread holiday cheer!
