Trump Roasted After Declaring Himself A 'Genius' For Realizing 'Us' And 'U.S.' Have Same Letters

The former President wondered during a speech to MAGA fans if anyone has 'ever thought of that before' after making the realization.

Former Republican President Donald Trump patted himself on the back after realizing in front of his MAGA crowd that the words "us" and the "U.S." had the same letters.

Trump, who is the current front-runner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination while simultaneously facing charges for federal crimes, spoke at a rally on Monday in Derry, New Hampshire when he had his "a-ha" moment about the abbreviation for the United States.

After officially filing as a candidate for New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary, he mentioned French President Emmanuel Macron during a campaign speech.

He told the adoring crowd:

"You know, he's for France. I'm for us. I'm for us."
"You know how you spell 'us' right? You spell it U-S!"

"I just picked that up," he said and asked if he wasn't alone in that endeavor.

"Has anyone ever thought of that be—I just picked that up."

And the crowd went wild.

He continued:

"I'm reading and said us. You know, when you think about it, us, equals U.S."
"If we think of something genius, they will never say it."

The internet seized on a prime opportunity to ruthlessly mock him.

But it was hardly the most bizarre part of the speech.

In one of his ramblings, he tried to articulate something about former U.S. Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the words out of his mouth were:

"FDR was a great speaker. He sat. He sat because of the uhhh situat— but he was elegant, beautiful, eloquent, elegant and eloquent..."

Prior to his speech on Monday, Trump officially filed as a candidate for New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary.

This wasn't the first time he proclaimed himself as a very smart person.

In 2018, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart."
"I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star....."

Unfortunately, it doesn't take much convincing for his followers to buy into his touting himself as a "genius."

As one devoted Trump follower once said:

"Donald Trump is a genius."
"That's what the J stands for."

Oh boy.
