Reflecting back on his time in the Oval Office in an interview with Fox & Friends, former President Donald Trump touted his presidency as one that was a "glamorous" and "romantic period."

Trump was promoting his new pictorial memoir, Our Journey Together, in a phone interview with the conservative news station.

Despite supply-chain disruptions, he claimed his book, which was published in November, has sold over 300,000 copies.

He credited the book's success to his time during the White House when "our country was thriving. We were just beating everybody."

Said Trump:

"They viewed it as a romantic period, I think, and I think that's really why it's doing so well because there is a lot of romance to the book...They view it as a very glamourous time because our country was doing us so well."

He said that in spite of all the "vicious hoaxes and scams that they pulled; made-up stories like 'Russia, Russia, Russia'; you had the Mueller, you had impeachment hoax number one impeachment hoax number two, despite all of that, they view it as a very glamorous time because our country was doing so well, and we were respected."

Trump continued proclaiming his global leaders revered his administration.

"Putin respected us, and President Xi of China respected us. Kim Jong-un respected us. They all did. I tell you, Iran really respected us."
"People viewed it as a very beautiful and maybe romantic time in a sense, despite all of the nonsense by the other side, the radical left."

Twitter begged to differ and showed up with enough receipts to compile a picture book of their own.

According to Business Insider, Trump's book–which retails for $74.99 for an unsigned copy or $229.99 for a signed copy–has reportedly earned $20 million.

Our Journey Together features over 300 pictures chosen by Trump covering his presidency and time on the campaign trail, along with captions written by him.

The book–which is described as one that "captures the greatness of the last four years unlike anything else that has been published"–was largely panned by critics like The Washington Post's Ron Charles, who said the book "captures Trump's wandering mind and self-sabotaging bitterness."

A customer on Amazon who considered purchasing the book for their mother, whom they said was a MAGA supporter, left a one-star rating and wrote, "this should be slightly less than 1 star."

The customer's review read, in part:

"It is filled with fantasy-level self-aggrandizement and if it wasn't so embarrassing to look at it would be the absolute punchline to fascist ramblings.

One reviewer said the picture book "wouldn’t even pass as a middle school project. This is seriously embarrassing, and the price ($180) is just a continuation of trump scamming the people who love him most."

Other one-star reviewers left comments like, "Waiting for the audio book narrated by a fourth grader" and "He can't seem to shut up. I hope his epitaph is 'Gone too soon. Oh, wait.'"

It currently ranks on Amazon's best sellers rank at #2,877 in Books.
