Truckers Reveal Where In The U.S. They Refuse To Pull Over

There are just some places one should never park.

Being a truck driver has to be a lonely job. All those long nights and empty roads can play with everyone's mind. And when one journey's often, no matter how grand the scale they learn of the places one dare not venture.

Redditor u/Id_rather_be_eating wanted all the truckers out there to fess up to a few things by asking.... Truckers of Reddit, what's the most unsettling stretch of road in the US? Where do you refuse to pull over?

And All That Jazz....

Live in Chicago and am a trucker. That area is not safe.

Also if you are at the northern part of I65 and have vehicle troubles please pull over as far as you can. Even if it means you are in the grass. I've lost over 8+ people from getting hit on I65 by sitting on the side of the ride.

Edit: For those whom haven't driven on I65 the speed limit is 70 MPH and for that road I call it "suggestive." It's also the fastest route from northern Indiana to southern Indiana. Most transportation hubs in the Chicago land area use this stretch get south or visa versa. xxtzimiscexx

Gary.

Gary Indiana, if it's not burnt down it's because the meth operation hasn't exploded yet. lorenzovonmaterhorn

I live in Chicago and was driving back from my sister's in Indiana one night. Had to piss really bad, pulled off the highway in Gary because, well, that's how bad i had to go and couldn't wait 30 minutes to get home. Almost immediately pulled over by an unmarked cop. He asked what i was doing here and i told him I had to piss really bad, he followed me to the gas station, waited, then followed me back to the highway. I guess he figured i was coming for drugs or had no idea what i was getting into either way I'll never go there again. softkermit

King's territory.

Crawfordsville, IN off I74. Was driving to a tournament with my team in college (rugby, and a bunch of us were from inner city Chicago so we had our heads about us). We needed dinner so stopped there to grab food. I don't think there was one normal thing on the whole town. People literally stared at our cars. The girl in the drive through (we were already too creeped out to stop to eat) had her hair in braids that stood up and looked like worms. The whole experience was just really strange. It felt like the beginning of a Stephen King novel, and both cars felt the same way without talking to each other. If you're from there, I hope your town isn't as creepy as it seemed. MizStazya

No Moana.

I don't know where it is, but every time my brother in law trucks to this one company outside my town he finds a deformed chicken and brings it home as a pet. We have three chickens from Moana. heyisntthatyourmom

Drive Through Only.

All of Wyoming. When you see those billboard sized signs telling you to gas up... DO IT! RonSwansonsOldMan

Like Nascar.

Fort Wayne IN. In my book it is right up there with Gary IN for most of the same reasons.

Detroit MI can be bad too. Nowhere near as bad as it was in the 80's-90's.

Atlanta GA outer belt at rush hour during the week. Holy hell, I was going 85 and was being passed by most things out there. It was like a low rent Nascar race. Routine_Condition

Don't Stop!

Not in the US, but the pan-american highway - once you turn off anywhere in Honduras or around there... keep driving until you see tourists. shutyourmouthalready

Don't Meet me in St. Louis.....

East St Louis. TheEquestrianPilot

Can confirm. Don't stop anywhere on I-64/40 between East St Louis and Fairview Heights, IL. StratPlyr

Can also confirm. My husband has been told during some rougher times that he's not to stop for nothing or no one running through. I thought it was just his DC at the time but he said it was police.

I thought he was just trying to kid with me but the other wives of drivers said no, that their men are told straight up if something happens there's no help coming so either deal with it or turn down the loads. zoe_in_the_wild

No Flag Plant.

Not a trucker and maybe not the scariest necessarily but 89A in northern Arizona around Page & Flagstaff during a night time thunderstorm is NOT the bees knees. I've never come close to gripping a steering wheel as hard as I did driving back to Flagstaff with the "Elk next x amount of miles" and pouring rain. TaquitoPartyat330

The Outskirts.

Trucker here, I run in the Northeast. The most unsettling stretch of road for me is I-81, because of the amount of truck traffic and new drivers on it. Of course there are sketchier roads in terms of being scared of robbery or such, but I see reminders about once a month on I-81 that trucking will kill you if you're not careful. It doesn't help that it's almost exclusively two lane all the way.

Where do you refuse to pull over?

Inside a city or the outskirts unless I am at my destination. Murican_Freedom1776

Lauren Boebert Dragged For Leaking Photo Of Hillary Clinton's Closed Door Epstein Deposition To MAGA YouTuber

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's deposition in the Epstein case had to be paused yesterday after Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert secretly snapped a photo of her and sent it to right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson—who then immediately posted it online.

Clinton, who along with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, had insisted on testifying publicly regarding matters tied to the late financier, pedophile, and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, faced hours of questioning in a closed-door deposition after Republican Chair of the House Oversight Committee refused to make their depositions public.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul Trolls Kash Patel With Epic Zing Over 'Heated Rivalry' Airbnb Listing

MAGA Republican President Donald Trump's FBI Director, Kash Patel, is facing backlash over his taxpayer-funded locker room booze fest at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy.

Patel flew to Italy on a taxpayer-funded FBI plane despite having repeatedly criticized his predecessors for such excursions throughout 2023 and 2024. But an FBI spokesperson claimed it was not a personal trip because Patel met with Italian law enforcement and the U.S. ambassador to Italy during his visit.

Woman Speaks Out In Viral TikTok After Company Expects Her To Train 25-Year-Old They Promoted Over Her

No workplace is perfect, but there are certain, inexcusable things that a workplace simply cannot do, like withholding opportunities from an employee because of their age or sex.

TikToker @theunobsolete felt that she was passed over for a promotion due to her age and salary requirements, despite being qualified, while a fresh-out-of-grad-school candidate with no experience was given the role instead.

Guy Waiting For Luggage At Baggage Claim Mortified After His Undergarments Start Coming Out One At A Time

We've all heard the advice to "travel light," but packing only one sock for a flight might be taking it a bit far.

But in all actuality, TikToker @laysuperstar's brother, Hugh, did not only pack a singular sock for his trip, even if that's what the airport baggage claim would like you to believe.

Turkish Soccer Player Performs CPR On Seagull Mid-Match After It's Struck By A Ball—And It Survived

In a playoff match full of high stakes, one player ended up fighting for a very different kind of win—one that came with feathers.

Let’s start at the beginning. As reported by The Guardian, in the 22nd minute of the Istanbul First Amateur League playoff final between Istanbul Yurdum Spor and Mevlanakapi Guzelhisar in Zeytinburnu, goalkeeper Muhammed Uyanik scooped up the ball with the league title hanging in the balance.
