An Ontario man recently got the shock of a lifetime when a commercial truck in front of him suddenly veered off the road and shot up onto the roof of a house.

Sharon Gauthier says her husband, Denis Lefebvre, was coming home from work when his vehicle's dashcam managed to catch the strange incident as it unfolded.

She shared the video on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.

In the video, you can see the truck as it travels eastbound down Highway 64 in Alban, Ontario, when it suddenly seems to lose control before catapulting itself up onto the house.

Constable Michelle Coulombe told local paper Bay Today:

"The eastbound commercial motor vehicle drove off the roadway into a driveway culvert and then struck a hydro pole which caused the back of the vehicle to lift up and land on the roof of a house."

Luckily no one was home at the residence during the time of the accident.

The driver, a 24-year-old man from Scarborough, and his passenger were also uninjured.

Authorities have charged the driver with careless driving.

Gauthier said in a comment on her Facebook post that Lefebvre got the dashcam as a birthday present last month, remarking that it's a "good thing" that her husband "does not tailgate."
