Tomi Lahren Slammed For Insinuating That LGBTQ+ People Only Care About Lockdown When It Doesn't Affect Them

Tomi Lahren once again said something sketchy and got Twitter-checked into oblivion over it.

As one article put it, "Tomi Lahren stays losing."

You'd think she'd be tired of it by now, but the Fox News commentator has that plucky youthful energy that just keeps going. She's like the Energizer Bunny of flubbing it—she just keeps going and going...

This time, she stuck her foot in it with a tweet that is so layered in its insulting homophobia that you almost have to draw a diagram to find it all.

Here's her tweet.

The phrase "pro-eternal shutdown cheerleaders" is hyperbolic and insulting right off the bat. Nobody is cheering for "eternal shutdown."

That sounds like how a computer would refer to death. People asking to extend the shut-downs are not cheering for death.

Quite the opposite—they're trying to NOT die, Tomi, or kill anyone else.

Based on the figures coming from places that lifted their restrictions too far, too fast and are having to shut down again, they're not wrong to be concerned.

Her choice to use "favorite government pals" implies strongly that anyone who doesn't want to lift restrictions, go kick the doors open at their closest Cracker Barrel, and recreate the Hoedown Throwdown scene from Hannah Montana must be in "cahoots" with the government.

Things start to get more blatant here with this next bit. Tomi says she'd better not hear a peep when Pride parades start getting canceled.

So the only people who care about Pride are government cronies who are sitting at home quivering in their boots? So LGBTQ+ people and those who love or support them are all fearful people suckling at the teat of whatever "government pals" they have?

But she thinks those same quivery folks would leave home and risk infection for Pride? And will whine if Pride gets canceled?

Tomi.

Gurl.

Twitter finds your layers and layers and layers of wrongness disturbing.

Pride events were, for the most part, canceled ages ago. The LGBTQ+ community has particularly hard-won knowledge of how a disease can ravage a community.

They battled the AIDS crisis all alone for how long?

In the beginning, government officials and media personalities called it "the gay virus" or "the gay epidemic"—very clearly pinning the disease as belonging to just their community. That insouciance lead to countless avoidable deaths.

The LGBTQ+ community has watched us do it again with "the Chinese virus" and they know exactly what that mistake costs. That's why these events were canceled well ahead of many non-LGBTQ+ events.

Tomi wouldn't know anything about that because she didn't bother to educate herself before this tweet (again). She couldn't have been less accurate if she tried.

Twitter had absolutely no problem telling her that, either.

Tomi has opted not to respond as of yet. Which is pretty typical for when she spouts off with some heaping helping of ignorance and inaccuracy.

If she does respond, it's likely to be in the form of an extended Fox News segment where no one can correct her lies and ignorance of facts.

The book that helps explain the rise of figures like Lahren, Jacob Wohl and Ben Shapiro—White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide—is available here.

Trump Ripped After Going Off On Bonkers Rant About Room's Decor During Cabinet Meeting
