Tom Holland Tried To Buy His Own Non-Alcoholic Beer Brand At Target—And They Didn't Accept His ID

The Marvel star shared how he took a trip to several Targets before finding one that carried his non-alcoholic beer brand Bero—but then had trouble purchasing a case after his English ID wasn't accepted, until a "a really lovely employee" stepped in to help.

Actor Tom Holland has recently expanded into the non-alcoholic beer market—but his own product was nearly off-limits to him.

Holland found himself in a sticky situation when he recently traveled to several Target stores to find one that carried his non-alcoholic beer brand Bero. Just finding the stuff was challenge enough.

But then when he finally did find it, the Target staff refused to sell it to the baby-faced actor because they didn't accept his British ID.

Holland shared the mishap in a video on his Instagram Story. In it, he said that he'd already been to two Targets looking for the stuff with no luck. "Not the best marketing," he joked.

The third Target was the charm—he found the stuff right where it was supposed to be, prominently displayed on the end of one of the aisles. But then he ran into yet another snag.

"They wouldn't accept my ID because it's English and I couldn't prove my age!"

Thankfully, a kind employee stepped in and, in what sounds like a potentially illegal move, scanned their ID in lieu of the actor's. Surely there's a legal concession for buying booze for a movie star though, right? It's Tom Holland, Spider-Man himself!

Holland couldn't help but chuckle about the whole thing, of course.

“Kind of ironic that I wasn’t allowed to buy my own product!"

Even more so, given the reason he decided to create Bero. As he told People:

“When I ventured into the non-alcoholic world, I realized there was a void for a true, premium brand. I ultimately created Bero for myself because I was craving a product that helped me feel included.”

Sure, Tom, but only if you have proper ID! On social media, fans got a kick out of Holland's beer-buying mishap.

Many couldn't believe you need an ID to buy non-alcoholic beer in the first place. (It's because it often has trace amounts of alcohol in it.)

Of course, no Holland moment would be complete without the inclusion of his fiancée Zendaya, and Bero is no exception—kind of. Among the line's three flavors is one called Noon Wheat, a beer named after Zendaya's dog Noon. Aww.

Far-right provocateur Ann Coulter is facing fierce criticism after she made a genocidal remark in a now-deleted post on X in response to University of Minnesota professor and Navajo Nation member Melanie Yazzie's speech about colonization.

Yazzie, in a speech at last year's annual Socialism Conference, said "decolonization is the only thing that is going to save us as a species" during a panel hosted by Red Nation, a Native American nonprofit that advocates for Palestinian and Native American rights. She also said that the United States is the "greatest predator empire that has ever existed" and said it should be dismantled.
