Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson's Son Chet Assures Us That They're 'Not Trippin'' About Their Coronavirus Diagnoses

On Wednesday night, Tom Hanks took to Instagram to let his fans know he and his wife, Rita Wilson, are in quarantine in Australia after testing positive for COVID-19, the novel coronavirus that was just declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization.

While many Hanks-fans were slightly panicked at the news, they were quickly calmed by a shirtless video from Rita and Tom's son, Chet Hanks.

Chet Hanks posted a shirtless video in which he lets his fans know his parents are "not trippin'" over their diagnosis.

Chet said:

"They're both down in Australia right now 'cause my dad was shooting a movie down there. I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine. They're not even that sick. They're not worried about it. They're not trippin' but they're going through the necessary health precautions obviously."
"I don't think it's anything to be too worried about. I appreciate everyone's concern and the well wishes. I think it's all going to be alright. I appreciate it. Everybody stay safe out there. Much love."

Twitter had the time of their life turning Chet's update into a meme.

Many were surprised to find Chet's address was more formal and comforting than the President's.

This was especially surprising considering the way Chet has talked in some past videos.

Chet Hanks is, in his own way, a national treasure.

But seriously, Chet...why aren't you wearing a shirt?

Hanks' eldest son from his marriage to Samantha Lewes, actor Colin Hanks, also posted an update online, saying:

"We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from everyone. My parents are receiving excellent care in Australia and doing well (and in good spirits) given the circumstances. Despite the fact I'm in L.A. and haven't seen them in over three weeks, we have been in constant contact and am confident that they will make a full recovery."

Meanwhile, production on Baz Luhrmann's Elvis Presley biopic, which Hanks was in Australia to shoot, has been temporarily halted, with a statement from Warner Bros. saying an "individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment."

Hopefully, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are both feeling better and will be out of quarantine soon!

Trans Activist Has Blunt Reminder For Nancy Mace About Trans Women During Trump's First Term

Transgender activist Charlotte Clymer posted a truth bomb about where transgender women in the Capitol went to the bathroom during the first Trump administration after South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace announced she would seek to ban transgender women from the women's bathroom.

Mace introduced a resolution to bar members of Congress, as well as congressional officers and employees, from using single-sex facilities that do not align with their biological sex. The proposal was clearly designed to target Sarah McBride, who recently secured Delaware's lone seat in the House and will become the first openly transgender member of Congress.
