The Met Gala is one of the most glamorous event of the year. It's the perfect time for some of the world's biggest stars to take big swings with their fashion choices, and for Twitter users to hand down condemnation or praise from the faraway comfort of their homes. This year, the internet couldn't help but notice Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's strange choice of attire.



Twitter definitely thought there was something MAGICAL about Brady's outfit:




But all things considered, a magician may have been one of the kinder comparisons popping up on social media...





Some of the zingers reached pretty far back into the cultural zeitgeist.
