TikTok users are rushing to the support of a popular TikToker who was recently sentenced to 24 years in prison after killing a mother and daughter during a drag race gone wrong.

A look at his supporters' comments show they've even called for his sentence to be decreased on account of him looking so "innocent" and "cute."

Though his sentencing occurred in April of this year, 21-year-old Cameron Herrin struck the mother and daughter back in 2018, when he was 18 years old.

According to Fox 13 Tampa Bay, Herrin was driving a Ford Mustang through the busy pedestrian area of Bayshore, in Tampa, Florida.

He was racing a friend of his, speeding at 102-miles-per hour in a 45 mph zone, when he struck 24-year-old Jessica Reisinger Raubenolt and her 1-year-old daughter Lillia as they were crossing the street.

Both the mother and daughter were killed in the wreck.

Herrin eventually went on to plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter, a charge which carries a sentence of up to 30 years.

Judge Christopher Nash, who oversaw Herrin's case, opted to give him 24 years.

And according to TikToker @hannahkosh, who regularly makes short clips covering internet happenings, Herrin's sentence began to elicit criticism from his TikTok fans.

Comments from TikTokers have included the following:

"Poor boy I hope they will 4give him he didn't do it on purpose."
"You're too cute...I fall in love with a criminal."
"no!! it was an accident ! so he doesn't deserve that !"

Someone even made a petition on Change.org calling for a lower sentence. Over 28,000 people have signed it.

The description for the petition echoed those TikTok comments sited by @hannahkosh.

"I think 24years is too much him, he didn't do for perps it was just an accident, I want you all lovely people who think it's absolutely not right to jailed the young man for 24years which is worst than a death."
"Please do sign and share this petition as much as you can, so that we can help to get out Cameron Herrin. He is very young and his all life front of him."

But for all 28,000 of those who signed the petition, there were plenty of others who didn't have an ounce of sympathy for Herrin.

Thus far, it does not appear that the petition nor the comments have had any impact whatsoever on Herrin's legal destiny.

Nothing seems to get conservatives' goats quite like celebrities having political opinions—well, liberal and leftist celebrities, anyway.

Far-right provocateur Ann Coulter is facing fierce criticism after she made a genocidal remark in a now-deleted post on X in response to University of Minnesota professor and Navajo Nation member Melanie Yazzie's speech about colonization.

Yazzie, in a speech at last year's annual Socialism Conference, said "decolonization is the only thing that is going to save us as a species" during a panel hosted by Red Nation, a Native American nonprofit that advocates for Palestinian and Native American rights. She also said that the United States is the "greatest predator empire that has ever existed" and said it should be dismantled.
