TikToker's Story About Giving Flowers To Grieving Stranger At 'The Right Time' Has Us Sobbing

TikToker described incredible serendipitous moment she shared with a grieving woman
@lohojpg/TikTok

TikToker @lohojpg shared a viral video about encountering a woman at the grocery store admiring some flowers before ultimately buying some and giving them to her, only to learn that the woman had just lost her husband.

Whether we are open to change or not as a person, basically no one likes it when our schedules get changed at the last minute, perhaps especially when it's related to work.

But when we leave ourselves open to new experiences and opportunities, and we show kindness to other people, there's no telling what experiences could be waiting around the corner for us when our day has otherwise been interrupted.

And sweet serendipity, did TikToker lohojpg recently have an incredible experience!

Like we sometimes do, the TikToker got called into work on one of her days off. She also had grocery shopping to do, so she just went to the store that was closer to her workplace after her shift ended.

Upon entering the store, being a few days before Valentine's Day, the TikToker noted how decked out the store was, especially the wide array of beautiful flower arrangements. She stood admiring them for a moment, found one that she really wanted, and even spoke to an older woman about how beautiful they were.

At the time, she decided to move on, because she needed to make sure she had enough money for groceries. But when she had money left over, she decided to treat herself and went back to retrieve the arrangement she had been admiring.

After noticing that the arrangement was gone, the TikToker grabbed the one next to her instead, which was also lovely.

But after returning to her car, the TikToker began to get the feeling that the arrangement wasn't meant for her.

Or rather, an internal voice of some kind was telling her that.

"I just got this heavy feeling, and I just heard, 'Give these flowers to this lady.'"
"And I'm like, 'No, I bought those flowers for myself.'"
"But when I got to my car and I'm putting the groceries in my car, I heard it again: 'Give the flowers to this lady.'"
"And I'm like, 'Okay... Obviously, I'm not meant to have these flowers today.'"

The TikToker wasn't sure what to do at first, because there were no other people in the parking lot at the time, and the woman was nowhere to be found.

But right when she had that thought, the woman appeared and began loading her groceries into her car.

The TikToker decided to approach the woman and offered her the flowers—and the woman had a surprising reaction.

"She looks at the flowers, and she busts out laughing."
"And then her laughing turns into crying."
"And I'm just like, 'Are you okay?'"
"She starts smiling and laughing again and says, 'Yes, I'm more than okay.'"
"She tells me her and her husband have been married for over 30 years. He has given her flowers every other Thursday since they met. So since their first date, he has given her three yellow daisies every other Thursday."
"Next, she tells me that she just buried her husband last week."
"Cue the waterworks on my end, because in case you all haven't figured it out yet, today is Thursday."
"She said when she walked in [the store], she looked at the flowers, she thought about buying them for herself, but she didn't see any bouquets with three yellow daisies, so she decided not to get them."
"She laughed when I handed her the flowers, because she saw this as divine timing, but then she started crying, because the bouquet I had given her had three yellow daisies in it."

Its just like life is kind of beautiful when you think about every single thing youve done has led to this exact moment. Pray for the lady and her grief journey esp with valentines day next week. #storytime #valentinesday #flowers

The TikTok video can remind us of not only the importance of being in the right place at the right time, but also leaving ourselves open to new opportunities.

Even though the TikToker did not want to work that day, if she had not accepted the shift, she would have done her grocery shopping at the store by her house instead of at the store by her workplace. Had she done that, she never would have had the chance to touch this woman's life.

Not everyone will want to believe that the late husband found a way to give three yellow daisies to his wife one more time, but we can all trust in how when we put positivity out into the world, it tends to come back in multitudes.

Season One Episode Of 'Law & Order: SVU' Goes Viral After Fan Notices Prophetic Detail Written On Binder

Folks, as you know, you don’t get to call anything a coincidence on the internet anymore—especially when a decades-old TV episode, a pause button, and one very loaded last name collide.

When Law & Order: Special Victims Unit debuted in 1999, no one was freeze-framing scenes looking for hidden meaning. Nearly three decades later, that’s exactly what viewers are doing, and one background detail from the show’s second-ever episode is suddenly under a microscope.

UFC CEO Reveals Why He Didn't Follow Orders To 'Get Down' During Correspondents' Dinner Shooting In Bizarre Interview

Of all the reactions to a shooting incident outside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, UFC CEO Dana White’s stood out for just how out of step it was.

In an interview with USA Today, White recalled tables being “flipped over” as law enforcement rushed in and ordered those in the room—including President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Cabinet members—to “get down.” Seated near the head table alongside top administration officials, the longtime Trump ally said he ignored those instructions entirely.
