TikToker Darby Allison post a video of Hooters servers singing a birthday song for her 5-year-old son.

When a mother took her 5-year-old son to Hooters for his birthday, she received negative feedback on TikTok.

TikTok user Darby Allison—@darbyallison19 on the platform—posted a video of her young son being serenaded by Hooters waitresses on his birthday.

The waitresses had the young boy pretend to be the restaurant chain's mascot—an Owl—using cups and serving platters as a beak and wings respectively.

Waitresses gathered around and started singing the Hooters birthday chant. The young child stood on his seat and fluttered his make believe wings as they did so.

Shouldn’t have told them it was your birthday buddy 😂 #embarrased #hooters #fyp #happybirthday #MadeWithKeurigContest

Reactions were really all over the place.

First there were those grown adults now jealous of a 5-year-old child.

Then were there those who pointed out 5 year olds aren't known for loving Hooters, so it must have been the dad's idea.

But the overwhelming critique of the video came in with a resounding "why?".

Others were just secondhand embarrassed for the kid, who had to flap fake wings to receive his birthday song.

The child seemed happy even if it wasn't his choice of venue.

His happiness should be the most important thing on his birthday so mission accomplished there.
