Woman Discovers Her Late Mom Was Actually Her Boyfriend's Kindergarten Teacher—And TikTok Is In Tears

We can all agree the world is much smaller than it used to be, due to the long reach of social media.

However, sometimes we have to be reminded the world can still feel small because of real life coincidences, too.

Take Leah Menzies, @speccylee on TikTok, for instance. She was feeling sad her late mother, who passed away when she was just 7 years old, would never get to meet her boyfriend.

But as fate would have it, the two had already met long before the couple started dating.

The couple was looking through old photographs and yearbooks, only to make a very interesting and heart-warming discovery about Menzies' mother.

Found out through this photo in his photo album. A moment straight out of a movie 🥲

In the video, Menzies confessed to being sad about her mother and boyfriend never meeting, only to make a surprising discovery:

"Me thinking my mum (who died when I was 7) will never get to meet my future boyfriend..."
"...Only to find out she was his kindergarten teacher!"

The internet had chills all over.

In an update, Menzies explained that they were going through the books, looking for specific photographs when her boyfriend discovered the class photo that included Menzies' late mother.

Menzies also confided that she never even knew that her mother was a kindergarten teacher, and assumed that she must have taught for one year in-between her other projects that Menzies was much more aware of.

This side-note made the coincidence seem all that more magical, because who would have ever guessed that Menzies' late mother would have been her current boyfriend's kindergarten teacher, let alone that it was during the only year when she was a teacher?

Some thought the couple was seriously meant to be because of this.

But a few hoped the couple wouldn't feel pressured to keep the relationship going if it wasn't meant to last.

This is one of those coincidences that is overwhelmingly sweet and likely will make Menzies feel much more comfortable, knowing that her mother was involved in her relationship in some small way that she wouldn't be if she were dating another man.

Whether the couple was "meant to be" or not is hard to say, but it's still a lovely story that Menzies will be able to take with her, just the same.

'Franklin The Turtle' Publisher Condemns Pete Hegseth For Turning Beloved Character Into Violent Meme

Kids Can Press, the Canadian publisher behind the beloved Franklin children's books, condemned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a statement after he shared an AI-generated image of Franklin the Turtle to justify his attacks on alleged drug-smuggling vessels in the Caribbean.

Hegseth's original meme, which he inexplicably captioned "for your Christmas wish list," features a doctored book cover titled Franklin Targets Narco Terrorists and shows Franklin, the protagonist of the popular Canadian children's book series authored by Paulette Bourgeois and illustrated by Brenda Clark, firing a bazooka from a helicopter at boats in the water below.
