Tiger Woods Seemingly Shaking Hands With A Tree At The Masters Sparks Hilarious Memes

After the golf pro was seen shaking hands with someone who was obscured by a tree at the Masters Tournament on Sunday, the internet came with some clever jokes.

A photo of Tiger Woods appearing to shake hands with a tree became an instant viral meme.

The photo was taken at Georgia's Augusta National Golf Club during the 88th Masters Tournament—the first of the PGA's four major golf championships. Woods was playing his 100th round in the PGA Majors.

A photographer snapped the photo of Woods as he stopped to greet someone obscured by a large tree trunk. Due to the angle of the shot, it gave the illusion that the World Golf Hall of Fame inductee was chumming it up with an anthropomorphic tree.

Sports Illustrated and other sports media outlets dug to the root of the mystery and identified the unseen hand-shaker as retiring legendary CBS announcer Verne Lundquist. Sunday was Lundquist’s 40th annual and final Masters assignment at Augusta National.

But the internet found the combination of Woods and a tree irresistible.

Amateur comedians were inspired to log in for the fun.

It was acorn-y internet moment.

But it was one you couldn't leaf without smiling about.

Resurfaced Trump Tweet Criticizing Obama Over Iran Comes Back To Bite Him

Amid tensions with Iran, President Donald Trump was criticized for hypocrisy after social media users resurfaced a 2013 tweet in which he accused former President Barack Obama of planning an attack on Iran because of his "inability to negotiate properly."

Trump has declined to clarify whether the U.S. is edging closer to launching strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, following a warning from Iran’s supreme leader against any attack and a rejection of Trump’s demand for surrender.
