Texas Woman's HOA Tells Her She Has To Take Down Her Skeleton Pole-Dancer Display

Texas Woman's HOA Tells Her She Has To Take Down Her Skeleton Pole-Dancer Display
ABC13

It's bad enough that Halloween itself is essentially canceled, but one Texas woman's HOA is determined to make sure that even every single iota of safe fun is wrung out of the holiday, too.

Because it's 2020 and we must ensure we ruin absolutely everything, a Richmond, Texas HOA ruled that Angela Nava has to take down the skeleton strip club she created on her front lawn, sending her pole-dancing skeletons to the skeleton unemployment line.

Nava's display--complete with wigs, skeleton customers and even a skeleton security guard--is called The Candy Shop, and it is truly a sight to behold!

And Nava told Houston's ABC13 that she changes the display up each day, and does a show complete with music every evening at 8:00pm for her neighbors, which they have absolutely loved--except for her HOA.

In a letter that arrived to her home, the leadership of the HOA told Nava that the skeletons were "offensively positioned" and that she would need to take the display down within 30 days... even though Halloween is on Saturday.

At first, Nava planned to comply, but the support she got online made her change her mind. As she told ABC13:

"I was a little sad... but then I got so much support off of Facebook and I said forget it. People are having so much fun with this and they love it, I'm gonna continue to do it."

So, since Halloween comes before her HOA's deadline, and especially since this year has been such a nightmare, The Candy Shop lives on!

"We've all been cooped up and it's been just a terrible year. We've just decided if this brings a little bit of joy and a little bit of smiles to someone, then we're doing everything right."

On social media, people are loving the display as much as Nava's neighbors.

At least it all worked out in the end. Happy Halloween to everyone, but Angela Nava of Richmond, Texas especially!
