A teacher investigated the ominous sounds of scratching coming from one of the backpacks in a grade school classroom while the young students were away in gym class.

She was shook after discovering the source of the noise was a little turtle a student brought to school.

TikToker @lifeisbetterlaughingg posted a clip of her going through the cabinet full of the kids' belongings and stumbling upon the helpless pet.

The text overlay in the viral clip read:

“While the kids were at gym, my co-teacher and I were working silently on computers."
“We heard scratching sounds over and over so we had to investigate all the backpacks."

In the clip, one of the women was heard saying:

“I think it’s a live turtle. Look in the back part of his backpack."

The teacher tasked with the investigation exclaimed, "no!" after finding the turtle hidden in one of the pockets of the backpack.

Laughter ensued as the camera zoomed in on the turtle, and the woman filming commented:

"The poor thing. Why is it in there? Oh my god! What do we do?”

Another teacher–who heard about the turtle from the little boy who talked about his pet for "about half an hour"–reached in the bag and rescued the reptile from its trappings and put it in a container.

TikTokers had plenty to say over the amusing find.

24-year-old YouTuber Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov was arrested after making contact with one of the world's last uncontacted tribes, making the perilous and ill-advised journey to North Sentinel Island and leaving a coconut and a can of Diet Coke on the beach as a gift to the Sentinelese.

Polyakov, 24, arrived at the northeastern shore of North Sentinel Island at 10 a.m. on March 29, according to police reports. He used binoculars to survey the land but saw no one.
