On October 30, 2020, Makayla Stephens and her husband Nick Stephens shared a Halloween costume photo on Instagram. They had dressed up as singer Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end, Travis Kelce.
In the photo, Nick wore Kelce's jersey—No. 87—with eye black under his eyes, while Makayla donned white jeans, a pink sweater, and a pink glitter heart around her right eye, reminiscent of Swift's Lover album cover.
The couple could not possibly have known about the future connection between the celebrity pair but Makayla's accompanying caption turned out to be quite prophetic:
“I don’t know any world in which Taylor Swift + Travis Kelce would be in the same room together, but apparently in this one they’re married? #HappyHalloween"

Fast forward to the present, and recent rumors suggest a romance between Swift and Kelce.
Last week, eagle-eyed social media users worked themselves up after spotting the pop sensation in New York City on September 8 donning a teardrop-shaped pendant adorned with an opal—the birthstone of the football-playing Libra.
Their connection gained further attention when Swift showed her support for Kelce during the Kansas City Chiefs' 41-10 victory over the Chicago Bears. Swift was seen cheering from Kelce's suite at Arrowhead Stadium, alongside Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce.
The timing could not be more perfect—so of course the Stephens' photo went viral on X, formerly Twitter.
People were gobsmacked.
Reports suggested Kelce had wanted to date Swift for some time.
Kelce had previously attempted to give Swift his phone number, in the form of a beaded friendship bracelet, during one of her Eras Tour shows in July. The dating rumors continue to fuel interest in Travis's love life, especially since his 2016 dating show, Catching Kelce.
Should the two confirm a romance, it would be Swift's return to the dating scene since the end of her six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn, a frequent collaborator with whom she shared the 2020 Grammy Award for Album of the Year for their work on Folklore.
