Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound!
Look over there! It's a bird! It's a plane!
It's....just some guy.
Brazilian comedian Luiz Ribeiro de Andrade, in costume as Superman the man of steel himself, filmed himself pretending to use his superpowers to stop a large bus driving down the street.
Except the bus didn't stop.
It quite literally hit him instead.
Ribeiro, 35, was pitched forward as the bus came to a stop.
Luckily, he got up unscathed and uninjured, proclaiming (in Portuguese) he "really [was] made of steel."

He then joked the vehicle's brakes were "not working," but later said he'd made an error in judgement.
"I went to the bus company so that the driver would not be penalized. There was no problem with the brakes," he told F5 News in Brazil.
"It's a stunt I always do, but this time it almost turned into an accident, and it wasn't serious because the hand of God was there...I didn't feel anything with the knock,"

Ribeiro has indeed been doing this stunt since at least last year, where a video shows him walking through the streets of Aracaju, Brazil maskless at the beginning of the pandemic.

The bus company responsible for the bus which hit Ribeiro issued a particularly dry statement In which they reminded folks of "the importance of attention to traffic (and) ensuring all necessary care."
Ribeiro was uninjured and no serious action has been taken in regards to the incident.
