Gina Torres gave 'Variety' reporter Marc Malkin a simple reason as to why Markle didn't join her fellow 'Suits' stars at the 2024 Golden Globes.

Fans of the legal drama series Suits were delighted to see the show's stars reunite to present an award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony on Sunday.

Notably absent from the cast, however, was Meghan Markle, who played paralegal Rachel Zane for seven of the show's nine-season run.

In 2018, Markle retired from acting and became a member of the Royal family, bestowed the title Duchess of Sussex after tying the knot with Prince Harry.

She and Harry made history after stepping down from their royal duties in 2020 and relocating to the U.S. to raise a family.

During a red-carpet interview, Suits star Gina Torres swiftly shut down speculations regarding the whereabouts of her former co-star.

When Variety asked Torres, who played Jessica Pearson in Suits, if any members of the cast reached out to Markle ahead of the reunion, Torres replied:

"We donโ€™t have her number."
"We just donโ€™t, so sheโ€™ll see. Sheโ€™ll watch."

Fans were impressed by her no-nonsense response to prevent further speculation about the absent cast member.

Before her blunt response, Torres commented on how her Suits co-stars were "all texting each other" upon confirmation about their Golden Globes appearance.

She said:

"Our text thread is insane right now, so it's very exciting."

It was time to move on.

While details are scarce, a new Suits series from the show's creator Aaron Korsh is in development, as announced in October by Deadline.

Sources described the expansion to the franchise as " a Suits universe series in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location."

Suits debuted on the USA Network in 2011 and ran for nine seasons.

A spinoff series named Pearson, centering on Torres' character Jessica Pearson and her entry into Chicago politics, premiered before Suit's ended its final season; however, it was canceled after one season.

When Suits experienced a resurgence after joining Netflix, Korsh discussed the show's renewed popularity with The Hollywood Reporter, saying:

"I think why people are tuning into it is a combination of that TikTok thing, thereโ€™s no doubt that thereโ€™s some curiosity about Meghan [Markle], and then Netflix knows how to entice you to watch a television show and then that builds on itself."

And when asked about a possible reboot, Korsh teased its possibility only "if someone reached out and the cast was into it."

For the record, Patrick Adams, who played Mike Ross on the show, expressed interest in reviving his character for a spinoff.

He told ETat the Golden Globes:

"If I got the phone call, Iโ€™d be ready to suit up again."
"I loved the show, I loved the character and I loved working with all these people.โ€
