Two stars of the popular show Ted Lasso staged an unexpected reunion at a charity concert recently, with actor Hannah Waddingham surprising costar Jason Sudeikis in the middle of a song.
The charity concert was for the nonprofit Steps of Faith, at their annual "Thundergoing!" variety show that raises money for amputees in need of prosthetic limbs and other aid.
Sudeikis was on stage, beginning his rendition of Lady Gaga's song "Shallow," seen in the 2018 movie A Star is Born, with former Saturday Night Live castmate Will Forte. "There is nobody I'd rather sing this song with," he said, launching into Bradley Cooper's part.
When it came time for Gaga's verse in the song, Forte was upstaged by Waddingham, who emerged singing from backstage and joined Sudeikis to finish out the song.
The duo sang so hard that Waddingham was hoarse the next day while on The View.
“As you can hear, it was quite a lot of fun...I decided I was a rock star for the night, hence sounding quite like a drag queen today.”
