Cori Broadus, the daughter of iconic rapper Snoop Dogg, issued a strongly-worded response to critics after being mocked for not flaunting her wealth more and driving a Toyota Corolla.
Toyota Corollas have a reputation for their reliability and good fuel economy. They're not flashy cars.
For instance, the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for a 2024 Corolla is $21,900 for the LE sedan model, which includes features such as a Wi-Fi hot spot and navigation. Depending on the chosen trim and additional options, the price can rise to a maximum of $28,345.
Many seemed to expect Broadus to drive a more extravagant car given her father's legendary music career and wide-ranging professional pursuits, such as his collaborations with Martha Stewart and various brand endorsements.
It's unclear what initially prompted people to mock Broadus for driving a Toyota. The viral video was shared on a TikTok account that reposts others' videos, making it difficult to determine when and where Broadus originally shared her clip.
Broadus acknowledged she was initially surprised when her father gifted her a Toyota Corolla after she had been driving a luxury Acura. However, she ultimately chose to appreciate the car and expressed gratitude for it.
You can hear what she said in the video below.
@inspiredxxjazz I know thats right because i would be happy too #blackcelebrities #snoopdog #growingupblack #blackfamily
Broadus said:
“It don’t matter ’cause my dad is rich and because I have this and I have that when that s**t don’t mean nothing to me. Like, I drive a Toyota Corolla, and I’m content. Content."
"When my dad brought me that car, I'm not gonna lie, at first I was like, 'Hmm, a Toyota Corolla?' But before that, I was driving an Acura [a luxury car brand] and you just learn to appreciate stuff. I'm looking on social media, I'm looking at these girls' lives that are my age, and I'm like, 'Damn, you doing this and you doing that?'"
"I'm sitting here with my two dogs and my boyfriend every day trying to figure out what to eat. I feel stuck. At the end of the day, I feel very blessed."
“I’m in a very blessed position, you know what I’m saying? And sometimes they journey is they journey, and your journey is your journey."
Many appreciated her response.

Let Broadus' post serve as an example.
Money can't buy class, and it's pretty evident that her father has raised her to value more than material wealth.
