Anyone who passes some time on TikTok has inevitably had their heart melted multiple times by cute animals eating snacks, doing a cute trick, or cuddling.
But most of us can't say that we've had our hearts melted over one of these fuzzy cuties holding hands with their human.
TikToker Abigail, of @abilgailada12, has fulfilled that, though, now that she adopted her "foster fail" dog, Loki, and held hands and paws with him for the full drive from the adoption center all the way back home.
The 14-second video quickly went viral, with viewers losing it over the easy handhold and Loki's loving gaze.
Abigail wrote of the moment:
"I adopted this dog, and he held my hand the whole way home. He's such a sweet boy."

With the video gaining so much attention and inquiries for how the two met, Abigail shared a follow-up video.
In it, she explained that Loki had been surrendered to the veterinary care adoption clinic where she works, which offers volunteer veterinary care, surgeries, and adoption services, and Loki at the time was in terrible shape.
Abigail explained:
"He was really sick. He was on anti-nausea medicines and everything like that, and he needed somewhere to go, because he couldn't stay at the clinic all the time."
"He was too sick to go back to the adoption floor."
Her husband agreed for her to bring Loki home to foster as long as she didn't get "too attached."
"But I did get attached, and I did want to keep him. He got along great with my dogs, he instantly loved our son, and he was house-trained."
"And so I started begging for him."
Abilgail's husband initially said no, since they already had two big dogs of their own. But when Abigail took Loki back to the adoption center, she was heartbroken, and she saw how deflated Loki was to be back there.
A staff member took a photo of Abigail holding Loki, both of them looking depressed, and she sent the photo to her husband, finally convincing him to say yes to a formal adoption and "foster fail."

Since then, Abigail's shared many more updates featuring Loki, including him receiving his first Pup Cup at Dunkin Donuts and cozying up on the couch.
But one of our favorites features the obvious bond between a boy and his dog.
Abigail explained in the video:
"Everyone says Loki is my soul dog, but really, I know he's my son's."
The video shares a series of shorts and photos of Loki and Abigail's son obviously spending their best life together.

And despite his reservations initially about keeping Loki, Abigail's husband had clearly come around, too.

Abigail's husband may have not wanted her to get "too attached" in the beginning, but it's clear getting attached was exactly what this adorable dog and his family needed.
