'Sexiest Doctor Alive' Offers Some Helpful Advice For Staying Safe During Super Flirtatious Interview

Heatlh care workers are putting their lives at risk tending to thousands of patients impacted by the viral pandemic.

In honor of those fighting on the front lines, The Daily Show correspondent Desi Lydic interviewed a medical expert from New York—who himself has been responsible for raising the heat as the "Sexiest Doctor Alive."

Meet Dr. Mikhail Varshavski—a.k.a. "Dr. Mike."

He is a 30-year-old Russian-American family physician who became an internet celebrity after People Magazine dubbed him "the Sexiest Doctor Alive" in its "Sexiest Man Alive" issue in 2015.

While the swoon-worthy doctor is easy on the eyes, Lydic pledged to conduct her videoconference interview from her home in a professional manner. Fortunately for us, it was doomed from the moment she locked eyes with the doctor through the screen.

You can watch Lydic fail at keeping her composure in the hilarious video in the clip below.

While doctors are fighting the crisis head on, Lydic asked what people at home can do to help.

Dr. Mike first responded by discussing the realities facing health care workers in our current situation.

"It's scary times 'cause we're facing equipment shortages and we wanna take care of ourselves and our patients. But we also need to understand we're taking a huge risk being on the front lines."

Intent at staying focused, Lydic asked Dr. Mike to elaborate on the importance of social distancing "even if we are young and attractive."

"Yeah because that's really how it should stay," replied the suave expert.

"Because you want to be socially distancing yourself from others to flatten the curve to decrease the demand that's being put on hospitals nowadays."

When Lydic asked how close would be too close if one were to leave the house to fetch essentials like food or medicine, Dr. Mike suggested maintaining a six feet distance especially from someone you don't know.

Keep your distance, folks!

Lydic inched awkwardly closer towards her cam for an extreme closeup and asked:

"Would this be too close?"

The doctor coolly responded:

"In my professional medical opinion, I would say that's too close."

When he elaborated on protocols to stay safe like washing your hands, the cam cut back to Lydic, whose lips by then were practically pressed against the screen.

She whispered:

"Is this too close?"

The doctor did not change his assessment.

"That would be too close."

The entertaining video delivered key information and reminders while also giving us some much needed reprieve from all of the anxiety we're feeling while in isolation.

And while some of us may be limited on our edible resources, Dr. Mike gave us plenty of eye candy.

A shout-out to all of his fellow health care workers out there risking their lives for us.

To them, we are eternally grateful.

Sigh.

Remember, maintain your distance.

It's just what the doctor ordered.
