Comedian Dumbfounded After Gun Lover Claims You Don't Need A License To Drive A Car

Jason Selvig interviewing gun lover

'The Good Liars' comedian Jason Selvig shared a clip on X of a gun lover responding to his question about driver's licenses by claiming that they're just a 'suggestion' rather than required by law.

It has long seemed that many Trump devotees will say absolutely anything to justify their beliefs, even when those beliefs are absolutely bonkers and bear no resemblance to reality.

A gun-loving Trump voter that comedian Jason Selvig recently spoke to is a prime example.

While debating whether or not gun laws should be tightened, Selvig used as an example the fact that one must become licensed in order to drive a car.

That is an unfair analogy for guns, though, according to this man, because he insists that driver's licenses are only a "suggestion."

The conversation began with Selvig asking the man what he would say to "people who think there are too many mass shootings." The man responded:

"It's the f**king idiots who pull the trigger! It's not the people who own the guns."

Those are... usually the same people, of course, which Selvig then pointed out and asked a follow-up question about whether it might be a good idea to make sure "people who are idiots" can't buy guns. To which the man responded:

"How are we gonna make sure of that? Do you have to take an IQ test to drive a car?"

Oh touché, sir! Except you basically do have to take an IQ test to drive a car? More or less? As Selvig put it:

"You actually have to take a test to drive a car. You have to learn how to drive it safely to be able to drive."

The man argued that that's not how you learn to drive a car, which is not relevant, since how one learns to drive is not the topic at hand.

The man then moved on to insulting Selvig's driving ability and mocking him as someone who wouldn't be good at shooting a gun, before Selvig interrupted him to ask what any of this has to do with anything. He did not have an answer, you'll be shocked to hear.

Selvig finally asked the man point blank if he had to get a driver's license to drive a car. The man claimed he didn't need one because:

"That's just a suggestion."

Being that that's not true, Selvig said that's not true, and the guy insisted it was, because you don't need a driver's license to vote so you don't need a driver's license to drive.

Listen, don't try to make it make sense because it doesn't make any for several reasons, among which are the fact that you actually do need a driver's license to vote in many states due to Republican attempts at voter obstruction. Anyway!

As you might guess, this video melted people's brains online.

The delusion is strong with this one.

Former GOP Senator Gets Brutal Wakeup Call After Criticizing People For Playing 'Candy Crush' Instead Of 'Making Babies'

Ben Sasse represented Nebraska in the United States Senate from 2015 to 2023. As a Midwestern moderate, the sometimes controversial Sasse was often critical of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump on social media and on the Senate floor.

At one point, the Nebraska GOP censured him because of his criticism of Trump. But Sasse, like Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins, would still vote with the majority of his party when his vote was needed to back Trump's agenda.
