With the landmark case Roe v. Wade overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, many have come out to protect reproduction rights. This includes celebrities who will put up money to defend a person’s right to choose.

Others, however, are asking for help from the most obvious allies.

Selena Gomez, while promoting her Hulu show Only Murders in the Building, spoke to Variety about the Supreme Court’s decision.

She asks for men to stand up and help defend the right to choose.

While on the red carpet, Gomez is stopped and interviewed about her show. When asked about abortion rights, she doesn’t mince words.

She says in the above video:

“It’s about voting, it’s about getting men- men needing to stand up and also speak against this issue. It’s also the amount of women that are hurting.”
“I'm just not happy, and I hope that we can do everything in our power to change that.”

Abortion access is going to affect not just people who who can give birth, but society as a whole.,

She also points to her Twitter post where she invites people to support Planned Parenthood, and get involved to help people get access to safe, legal abortion.

And people were here for it.

When the Supreme Court’s decision was leaked, many celebrities took a stand against the rollback of reproductive rights. Back in May, a number of celebrities, including Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes, signed onto a campaign in support of Planned Parenthood.

The campaign endorsement read:

“We are Artists. Creators. Storytellers. We are the new generation stepping into our power.”
“Now we are being robbed of our power. WE WILL NOT GO BACK — AND WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN.”

The artists are asking their fans to join in speaking out against banning abortion access and care.

Which everyone should do.

If you want to get involved in by donating or joining protests, Planned Parenthood put together a website to keep track of news and events as the movement to protect people continues. States where abortion will be banned outright are the most dangerous and people will need help.
