Conservative Leader Sparks Outrage With Chilling 'Second American Revolution' Threat

Kevin Roberts
Real America's Voice

Kevin Roberts, President of The Heritage Foundation, said we were currently in a 'second American revolution' and suggested it's up to the left to keep it 'bloodless.'

Kevin Roberts—president of the ultra-conservative, Christian nationalist Heritage Foundation—issued a not-so-veiled call for domestic terrorism in the United States just before July 4th celebrations are about to take place.

Appearing on convicted felon Steve Bannon's War Room podcast, Roberts promised bloodshed unless the White supremacist, Christian nationalist goals set forth in the right-wing Project 2025 plan that he helped author are met without opposition.

You can see Roberts' remarks here:

In the segment on Real America's Voice's War Room, Roberts stated:

"In spite of all this nonsense from the left, we are going to win. We're in the process of taking this country back. No one in the audience should be despairing."
"No one should be discouraged. We ought to be really encouraged by what happened [in the Supreme Court] yesterday. And in spite of all of the injustice, which, of course friends and audience of this show [and] of our friend Steve [Bannon] know, we are going to prevail."

Roberts claimed Steve Bannon was a victim of injustice.

Bannon—Donald Trump's former chief strategist—was charged, tried, convicted, and reported to prison on Monday. He escaped federal trial for defrauding MAGA donors as a result of a Trump pardon.

Bannon still faces a state trial on wire fraud and money laundering charges.

"Number two, to the point of the clips and, of course, your preview of the fact that I am an early American historian and love the Constitution. That Supreme Court ruling yesterday on immunity is vital, and it's vital for a lot of reasons. But I would go to Federalist No. 70."
"If people in the audience are looking for something to read over Independence Day weekend, in addition to rereading the Declaration of Independence, read Hamilton's No. 70 because there, along with some other essays, in some other essays, he talks about the importance of a vigorous executive."

"You know... the importance of Congress doing its job, but we also know the importance of the executive being able to do his job. And can you imagine, [host] Dave Brat, any President—put politics off to the side—any President having to second guess, triple guess every decision they're making in their official capacity, you couldn't have the republic that you just described."
"But number three, let me speak about the radical left. You and I have both been parts of faculties and faculty senates and understand that the left has taken over our institutions. The reason that they are apoplectic right now, the reason that so many anchors on MSNBC, for example, are losing their minds daily is because our side is winning."

Roberts finished with a threat.

"And so I come full circle on this response and just want to encourage you with some substance that we are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be."

The Biden-Harris campaign was quick to respond to Roberts' threat to the American people.

In an official statement, they wrote:

"248 years ago tomorrow America declared independence from a tyrannical king, and now Donald Trump and his allies want to make him one at our expense. On January 6, they proudly stormed our Capitol to overturn an election Donald Trump lost fair and square—something not even the Confederacy was able to accomplish—now they are dreaming of a violent revolution to destroy the very idea of America."
"Americans do not want Donald Trump, a liar, fraud, and convicted criminal who has said he wants to be a dictator on 'day one,' 'terminate' our Constitution, rip away our rights, and is only out for himself as President of the United States."
" Joe Biden rejects Donald Trump's revenge, resentment, and retribution."
"Like the rest of America, Joe Biden embraces freedom and democracy, our shared values of honesty, decency, dignity, and equality, and believes respect for one another, giving everyone a fair shot, and giving hate no safe harbor is what unites us in the future we will build together."

People across social media were appalled by Roberts' violent rhetoric.

This isn't the first time the Heritage Foundation president called for an overthrow of a duly elected government if he doesn't get his way.

On another episode of Bannon's podcast—recorded before he reported to prison—Roberts told Bannon about recruiting people for his revolution:

"Let's say someone is inspired to go participate in this, but they say... 'I can't tithe 2 or 4 years to go to D.C., but I want to be part of' what I call 'the second American Revolution', hopefully bloodless or no more blood than has been spilled by the left."
"And what you can do is submit your application. You can go through the training, and what it will do is give you that civics foundation."
"It will let you know what's at stake, and it will arm you with details. It will arm you with information. So whether you go into the administration in D.C. or maybe you do something local like serving on a voluntary council in your town or your county or maybe your state."
"What we're doing here is building not just for 2025, ...but for the next century in the United States."
