The Marvel star is starring as a young Donald Trump in the upcoming film 'The Apprentice'—and a first look at the film has fans uneasy.

Actor Sebastian Stan will be playing a younger version of former Republican President Donald Trump in an upcoming biographical drama film called The Apprentice.

Stan is a Romanian-American actor famous for playing Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in several Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and TV series, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier , and Disney+'s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The 41-year-old will portray Trump when he was known as the New York real estate mogul, decades before he assumed his White House position and became the federally-charged ex-President gunning for a West Wing comeback.

Deadline described The Apprentice with the following:

"Billed as an exploration of power and ambition, set in a world of corruption and deceit, The Apprentice will examine Trump’s efforts to build his real estate business in New York in the ’70s and ’80s, also digging into his relationship with infamous attorney Cohn."
"It’s a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of a major American dynasty. Filled with larger-than-life characters, it will reveal the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers."

Joining Stan is Succession star Jeremy Strong as Trump's business mentor Roy Cohn, Maria Bakalova as the late Ivana Trump, and Martin Donovan as the father of the future President, Fred Trump.

The Apprentice, directed by Ali Abbasi from a screenplay by Gabriel Sherman, was included in the 2024 Cannes Film Festival Competition lineup, where it will have its world premiere in May.

The film just released a first look at the upcoming film with Stan as Trump and Strong as Cohen.

Social media users did a double take.

Some fans thought he actually resembled another character from a galaxy far, far away.

Stan received critical acclaim for playing Tommy Lee in the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy, a performance that earned him a nomination for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

He also received a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Movie/Miniseries for his appearance in the thriller filmFresh.

With his impressive film cred, there's no doubt he will deliver in his portrayal of Trump.

Regardless of the film's success, this ought to be an interesting ride.
