We've seen those candles that smell like states--the perfect gift for transplants who are often homesick.
But what if we could just as easily hang up a map and scratch-n-sniff new places along with our sentimental ones?
u/Cjyogj asked:
There is a scratch and sniff map of the United States, what does your state smell like?
Here were some of those answers.
Another Oddly Big State
Overall I think New York probably smells like apples, but my end of the state smells like chicken wings.
Whomp Whomp
Green chilies and failure
Edit: only because I saw some bullshit about Colorado and California Chile you can kick rocks with that nonsense. Hatch valley green Chile is the only chile that matters.
The Very Air Holds Us
Wisconsin: land of brat burps and beer farts. Come smell our dairy airs.
Trees
Cedar, petrichor, and weed.
(Technically I live in Canada, but I'm pretty sure this all applies to Washington state too)
There's More State Than Just There
It usually smells pretty good, but for some reason people keep scratching near Newark and Camden, and those parts of the map smell like poop, so everyone thinks it smells awful.
