The internet scorched a disgruntled customer who severely burnt her pumpkin pie and blamed the California-based restaurant chain that licenses its name for their frozen entrees and desserts.

A woman named Sharon Weiss–who may have been oven-challenged or lost track of time and never set a timer–posted a photo of her charred pie on Marie Callender's Facebook page to show them how THEY were responsible for the baking disaster.

"Thanks Marie Calendar [sic] for ruining Thanksgiving dessert," she wrote.

Attached was the photo of the pie that spent way too much time getting baked.

The now-deleted post went viral and even prompted a response from the accused to Sharon's post.

Marie Callender's wrote the distressed customer in the comments, which read:

“Hi Sharon. Thanks for your post. We’re really sorry to hear our Pumpkin Pie let you down this year."
"We’d like to get in touch with you so we can hear more and help. Please send us a private message…”

People were gobsmacked Sharon's complaint elicited a response from Marie Callender's.

A woman named Heather pleaded with the pie company:

"Don't you dare apologize. It's not your fault Sharon decided to get tanked and set her oven to hellfire'"

Another Marie Callender's ally wrote:

"Don't you dare! You did nothing wrong!"

Jennean Schrandt Dickens also agreed the restaurant chain was not responsible for Sharon's presumed negligence.

"Marie Callender's why are you sorry? You didn't cremate her pie. You didn't set her oven temperature to the "hell" setting. She did that all on her own."
"Maybe she needs to lay off the sauce until cooking next time?"

People speculated where Weiss went wrong here, with one user assuming she had "a little too much thanksgiving wine and turned the broiler on instead of the oven," adding, "375 for 65 minutes and this one is delightful. Happy Thanksgiving, every one!"

And Steve Sleeve suggested the comedy of errors would be more apropos if the pie-baking instructions were written in the style of a popular sketch comedy troupe.

Sharon's post garnered more traction, inspiring dedicated Facebook groups, like “Marie Callender’s Sharon Pie Roasting Posting” and a group called “What in the Sharon Weiss is going on here??!”

Here's a sample of some of the memes compiled by "The Busy Praying Cook on Facebook" before the post was deleted.

Obligatory pop-cultural references to Titanic and Breaking Bad were included, as well as inserting the popular Bernie Sanders meme.
