Sandy Hook Survivor Gives Heartbreaking Update In Viral TikTok: 'It Hasn't Gotten Better'

It's been just shy of a decade since the horrific school shooting at Sandy Hook elementary in Newtown, Connecticut.

What would prove to be one of the deadliest and most horrific school shootings in US history resulted in a gunman taking the lives six adults and 20 children between the ages of six and seven.

Recently, a survivor of the horrific massacre uploaded a video to her TikTok page, where she goes by the handle @kaliahelise.spam.

She gave an idea of the somber tone of the 24-second video in the caption.

"I wish I could say it got better but honestly it hasn’t."

Lip synching to dialogue from the Bojack Horseman episode "The View From Halfway Down" where the title character discusses mortality with Herb Kazzaz, the video began with @kaliahelise in a plaintive expression, with her feelings summed up in the overlay.

"Me after going through the Sandy Hook school shooting in Kindergarten wondering if everything would be ok again."

The video then cut to her looking a bit more optimistic, if resigned, and with a change in the text overlay.

"Everyone telling [me] it will be ok and things will be back to normal in no time."

The following scene had her mouthing to Bojack Horseman saying "see you on the other side" with an overlay accompanying it that said:

"Younger me waiting for the day things get better."

But in the final shot, she couldn't hold back the tears as she made an effort to mouth to Herb Kazzaz telling Bojack Horseman "there is no other side" and revealing her truth in the overlay.

"Me now as a freshman in high school and it hasn't gotten better."

The video has received over 2.5 million views and 11 thousand comments.

Several TikTokers openly expressed their outrage over how little progress has been made towards gun control in the US, even nearly a decade since the horror at Sandy Hook.

There were a handful of comments which claimed this was merely an attention grab, resulting in her posting an update in the comments section, making it clear this video's main purpose was to instigate change.

She also made a comment thanking all those who came forward with words of support and encouragement, while revealing she has sought help.

Living with the memory of the news footage of Sandy Hook remains chilling, one can only imagine living with the memory of actually being in the building as it was happening.

It shouldn't take the words of the survivors a decade after the massacre took place to finally implement change.

Man Who Nancy Mace Accused Of 'Harassing' Her In Ulta Store Speaks Out

South Carolina MAGA Republican Representative Nancy Mace—whose entire brand seems to be attacking people and then crying victim—is being exposed once again for embellishing reality to further her anti-LGBTQ+ agenda.

On April 19, Mace posted a video of her yelling obscenities at a constituent on her social media and later pinning it to the top of her feed. But like many who live in red districts, the man just wanted to know when Mace would hold a town hall to speak to voters.
