The Man Known As 'Salt Bae' Just Did His Signature Move As He Voted In Turkey šŸ˜‚

The nation of Turkey heads to the polls today to cast their votes for members of Parliament and for president. Nusret GƶkƧe, better known as Salt Bae, thrilled the internet by doing his signature move while casting his ballot.

Some people on Twitter wondered if Salt Bae would strike his pose while voting.

Six candidates are vying for the Turkish presidency, including the current president, Recip Tayyip Erdogan.

Salt Bae didn't disappoint, sporting his meme-immortalized, salt-sprinkling pose as he cast his vote.

In fact, GƶkƧe tweeted himself doing it. The picture was accompanied by a message: "One vote is important so i have come this morning from far away for presidential election."

"Salt Bae wants YOU to vote," one Twitter user responded.

"Nusret does it again," another user wrote.

Nusret GƶkƧe is a restaurant owner, butcher, and chef whose style of meal preparations turned him into an internet sensation. His nickname "Salt Bae" originated in a video he posted last year called "Ottoman Steak", in which GƶkƧe sprinkles salt onto his forearm as it falls onto a piece of meat.

"The shape of the meat and the taste of it starting from the top down is a part of me," he said in an interview with NBC. "All of my feelings are coming from inside of the meat down to when I put the salt onto the meat."
