We seldom analyze the aesthetics of a delicious snack when we're devouring them.

Have you ever wondered why Ritz Crackers—the savory disc-like snack cracker—have scalloped edges?

Probably not, as most of us are more concerned with shoving them into our hungry mouths.

But this interesting bit of trivia may blow your mind and possibly change the way you eat the popular Nabisco treat forever.

Ritz Crackers' official TikTok page recently posted a video with an impressive revelation showing why the edges of the popular snack are serrated.

In the clip—captioned "the more you know"—a voice says:

"What people think the edges on Ritz Crackers are for… 'Wow... So pretty... Aesthetic... Beautiful scallops'."

The voice continues:

"What they're actually for."

Then, someone holding the cracker in the video demonstrates the handy use of the cracker's feature by rolling the edge of it on a slice of cheese to cut it into strips for sandwiching.

Who knew? Ritz Crackers doubles as a makeshift cheese cutter.

In two days, the post racked up 1.1 million views and 177,000 likes.

People shared their various responses to the video, beginning with a jokester, who wrote:

"Ritz, I'm no advertisement specialist, but this post hurt my feelings, and I'm sure it had the same impact on others. It might be good to delete this."

Ritz responded with this salty comment:

"It's going to be okay."

One TikToker called out the clumsy way in which the cracker barely sliced through the cheese in the demonstration.
