A screenshot of a very brief resignation letter quickly went viral after being shared on X, formerly Twitter.

A screenshot of an extremely brief resignation letter has gone viral on X, and the internet is absolutely loving it.

We all know that materializing a thoughtful and professional message to mark the end of our time with an employer is no easy task, but this letter is basically the embodiment of "short and to the point."

Many people opt for the classic three-parter in which they thank their employer, discuss the growth they've made and skills picked up along the way, and then close out with a blurb about the future and another "thank you."

Of course, some have opted for lengthier and more formal versions, like this guy who read his in a suit and tie in the middle of the Tesco where he worked because his employer demanded a "formal" resignation letter.

But another resignation that took the internet by storm was quite the opposite, getting the point across in just three words.

A screenshot of the message was posted to X by Maphanga Mbuso (@MBSVUDU/X) who appropriately captioned it:

"Simple."

The body of letter itself read only:

"Bye bye Sir."

The closing was an even funnier:

"Yours faithfully"

People on social media were extremely entertained by the letter.

But they also acknowledged that it got the job done...literally.

And others deemed it the new standard.

While we're not too sure the employer was as entertained as the 200,000 people who liked the tweet, we do commend the author of this letter their bravery, and wish them well in their future endeavors 😬.
