If you were on the internet any time from the late 2000s to the early 2010s, you were "Rickrolled" at some point. Rickrolling was everybody's favorite hilarious moment when you followed a clickbaity link only to be redirected to the infamouse "Never Gonna Give You Up" music video from UK artist Rick Astley.

The synth pop drum beats, some hip rolls and an 80s haircut later, Rick Astley was singing and dancing at you.

This video is such a relic of the 80s in so many ways that the grainy, sort of dusty looking video quality really fits.

Recently, though, an account named Revideo uploaded a remaster of the infamous troll meme.

It's....very strange to behold.

The clip quickly went viral, with a variety of reactions coming from Twitter.

Rick Astley himself has actually received a resurgence in his career from the popularity of the meme.

One time, Astley actually "Rickrolled" the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in person.

Even that video is less high quality than this new cursed re-master of his original music video.

The remaster really highlights exactly how little is going on in the video, with people dancing in largely empty spaces or in front of very plain walls or fences.

It also highlights just how young Astley was at the time of this video—in 1987, he was just 21 years old.

Astley continues to enjoy a career today, having released a number of new songs as recently as 2020 including a cover of David Guetta and Sia's "Titanium" and a Christmas song called "Love This Christmas."

Astley has also been "Rickrolled" a number of times. We wonder how he feels about seeing himself from the 80s in 4K?
