QAnon Rep. Called Out After Claiming Dems' Gun Laws Weren't Enough To Stop Boulder Shooter

In the wake of the deadly shooting in Boulder, Colorado, that claimed the lives of ten people—including a store manager and 51-year-old police officer, Eric Talley—Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene attacked Democratic calls for stricter gun reform.

Monday's tragedy that took place at a King Soopers grocery store became the second gun-related massacre in a week, following the shooting in Atlanta that left eight people dead.

President Joe Biden called for tightening gun laws and said in a speech he may take executive action on gun violence.

But the far-right Congresswoman insinuated stricter gun laws failed to prevent the shooter in Boulder from going on a killing spree.

On Tuesday, Greene took to Twitter and wrote:

"Colorado has everything the left has asked for...and it still didn't stop a thug like Ahmad Al-Issa from murdering Americans."

The U.S. representative for Georgia's 14th congressional district supports QAnon—a discredited far-right conspiracy that a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles runs a child sex-trafficking ring that former-President Donald Trump planned to take down.

Greene also believes that mass school shootings are staged events.

She was slammed for recently resurfaced social media posts in which she called the 2018 Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, and the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting "false flag" operations.

Greene additionally wrote a Facebook post from 2018:

"I am told that Nancy Pelosi tells Hillary Clinton several times a month that 'we need another school shooting' in order to persuade the public to want strict gun control."

She is also notorious for taunting and harassing Parkland survivor and gun control advocate David Hogg.

CNN's KFile found she called Hogg #littlehitler and spread the false conspiracy that he was a "bought and paid little pawn" actor.

Twitter pointed out Greene's flawed assumptions about Colorado's gun laws.

One user said, "Colorado is an open-carry state. And Colorado continues to expand its history of mass shootings. So don't hand me any bullsh*t."

Another said it was possible to purchase a handgun in Colorado without a permit.

Other users noted how Greene was quick to name the Boulder shooter but did not mention any of the other White shooters in past mass shootings – including the recent gunman in Atlanta.

The frustration over the lack of strict gun legislation continued being expressed.

After many of her incendiary statements and publicly promoting conspiracy theories, Greene is facing expulsion from Congress after 72 Democrats supported a resolution formally introduced by Democratic Representative Jimmy Gomez of California, but the two-thirds majority vote required to expel a member of Congress is not expected – especially among Republican members.
