The differences between Democratic President Joe Biden and former Republican President Donald Trump are stark and myriad. And according to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, the two men's social media habits are chief among them.
At least, that's what Psaki said while doling some of her usual expertly crafted shade at the former president during today's White House press briefing.
After being asked about Trump's recent lawsuit filed against social media companies, Psaki gave a perfect response, seen below, directing subtle mockery straight at the former president.
Psaki: I think it\u2019s safe to say that the President spends a lot less time obsessing over social media than the former Presidentpic.twitter.com/ccjLdQ9vBA— Acyn (@Acyn) 1625765501
In response to the question, Psaki clarified that the current White House is not concerned with the lawsuits and that the issue should best be left to the social media companies.
And then, with a deliciously knowing, cat-that-ate-the-canary grin, Psaki wrapped up her comments with the perfect dig at Trump.
"I think it's safe to say that the President spends a lot less time obsessing over social media than the former President. With that, thank you everyone!"
And then, in a perfect stroke of mic-dropping genius, Psaki simply walked away from the podium. There are umbrellas who've thrown less shade!
The moment came as news broke that the former president has filed class-action lawsuits against tech companies Facebook, Twitter and YouTube parent company Google, and their respective CEOs Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey and Sundar Pichai, for banning him from their platforms in the wake of the January 6 coup attempt at the U.S. Capitol.
Legal experts say the lawsuits are all but certain to fail. But as always, that doesn't seem to be Trump's concern--immediately after news of the lawsuits broke, Trump's various political fundraising entities began sending out emails and text messages invoking the lawsuits in requests for donations.
Meanwhile, President Biden has been focused on getting his $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill passed, which would fund massive improvements to roads and bridges, railways, airways and ports, and utility equipment.
On Twitter, people loved this latest moment of Psaki's sharp wit.

Trump has yet to respond to Psaki's roast, but do be patient since he is, after all, banned from every social media app under the sun.
