Awkwardly-Framed Photo Makes It Look Like Prince William Got A Hair Transplant That Went Very Wrong

A photo of Prince William and Princess Kate at a Boston Celtics game gave Twitter a good laugh.

A poorly-framed photograph makes it look like William, Prince of Wales, got a hair transplant that went very wrong.

The photograph of William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, was taken as the royal couple took in a Boston Celtics game on November 30, the first day of a three-day tour in Boston, Massachusetts.

It shows them sitting courtside with others at the game, which ended when the Miami Heat emerged victorious. However, the person sitting behind Prince William wore their hair down, and the effect was not at all flattering.

In fact, it made William look like he'd traveled to the United States to get a hair transplant—and a bad one at that.

You can see the photo below.

Many were understandably amused by the photo given William's actual hair which has thinned considerably over the last decade.

And it's likely William was amused himself given his penchant for joking about his hair loss in previous interviews.

One person immediately compared William to Tobias Funke, the "Never Nude" character comedian David Cross played on the cult sitcom Arrested Development.

Others simply couldn't resist joking about it.

Prince William and Princess Catherine traveled to Boston to announce the winners of the Earthshot Prize, which William launched last year in partnership with biologist and natural historian David Attenborough and is expected to run annually through 2030.

The prize is awarded to five winners each year for their contributions to environmentalism. Each winner receives a grant of £1 million to continue their environmental work.

Despite the significance of their visit, William and Catherine have not received the most welcome of receptions in Boston, whose history and identity is deeply rooted in the American Revolution and its rejection of the English monarchy.

The New York Times reported the Bostonians its reporters spoke to were largely indifferent or disinterested in the news that the royal couple was in town, with one unidentified woman telling a journalist that she doesn't "care" as she stood in line waiting for her Dunkin Donuts order.

Another woman hurrying to catch a train in Dorchester declined to talk to a journalist about William and Catherine, though she cited annoyance with the royal family's treatment of Megan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, who has spoken openly about the racism and microaggressions she experienced as a mixed-race British royal.
