Since stepping down as senior members of the British Royal Family over a year ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been laying down roots in California and are also expecting their second baby.
As far as new job prospects go, Prince Harry has got it covered.
In addition to the couple inking a $100 million deal with Netflix and launching the Archewell Audio podcast on Spotify, the Duke of Sussex has recently taken on an executive role for a Silicon Valley startup firm that specializes in online coaching and mental health, called BetterUp Inc.
He was named "Chief Impact Officer" for the firm—a job title which also goes by the acronym, "CHIMPO."
While "CHIMPO" may seem like an odd executive title to the casual observer, it is eliciting giggles from our neighbors across the Pacific.
In Japanese, the word "chimpo" is a slang term for "penis."
Twitter users familiar with the language gave their confirmations.
According to the Japanese news site, SoraNews24, many of the country's social media users could not help laughing over Harry's new position title.
The following tweet literally reads, "Prince Harry has become a d*ck."
"I will never be tired of this headline."
"Imagine if he came to Japan and introduced himself as a 'chimpo' to officials? I'd love to see their faces!" a person was reported to have said.
One social media user asked:
"So his role is Chief Pole Officer?"
Another pointed out:
"It doesn't matter what age you are, the word 'chimpo' always raises a smile."
And one user quipped:
"Now he's a Royal C–ck?"
Joking aside, Harry said in an email confirming his new position with the Wall Street Journalhe endeavored to "help create impact in people's lives."
He had previously mentioned plans to work with mental health issues as Markle admitted in the tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview she was suffering from depression during her time as a Royal inside Buckingham Palace. His own mother's struggles with depression and an eating disorder are well documented.
BetterUp CEO Alexi Robichaux refused to reveal details about Harry's compensation and employment agreement but did mention Harry joining the leadership team as an "officer of the corporation" would be "a meaningful and meaty role."
He couldn't have said it any better.
