PHOTOS: Meghan Markle's Top Contenders for Her Royal Bridal Party

After waiting for months, we are pleased as punch with the news of Prince Harry's engagement to actress Meghan Markle. As details surrounding the royal wedding will slowly unfold in the weeks ahead, one thing on people's minds is who's going to be the select few to join her bridal party?

The affable celebrity has a long list of loyal friends, but how will she ever narrow down her besties to be her nearest and dearest when she ties the knot?

Clarence House announced that the bride and groom-to-be would exchange their vows come spring 2018, so Markle doesn't have a lot of time.

To make things a little easier, the Internet submitted their choices of candidates in the running to be a part of the future princess's crew. What's a reliable source for gauging who Markle keeps close to her circle? Why, Instagram of course!

1. Linsday Jill Roth

It's evident the two are BFFs according to all the sweet Instagram pics on their accounts. The besties met each other during a Toni Morrison literature class while attending Northwestern University and have been close ever since. Markle even served as Roth's maid of honor. Roth once said, "I think people assume that when someone gains notoriety that they change. But she’s still the same girl I met years ago, with the same values and priorities. She’s selfless, and that’s just a part of who she is and who she was raised to be."

2. Abigail Spencer

Spencer is Markle's costar on Suits, and from the looks of their social media posts together, they seem very close. Spencer told Vanity Fair, "She’s got warm elegance, though her style is hard to pin down. It’s classy and timeless. When you’re talking to her, you feel like you’re the only person on the planet. And it’s just wonderful to see her so in love.”

3 Benita Litt

Besides going on many vacations together, Markle was appointed to be godmother to Litt's two little girls. Sounds like a spot in the squad reserved for the brand curator is a given.

4. Misha Nonoo

The celebrity designer has been friends with the actress for years. But what makes her a strong contender is the fact that Nonoo's husband, Alexander Gilkes, went to the same school with both Prince William and Prince Harry, and the couple was invited to the duke and duchess's wedding.

5 Jessica Mulroney

The Canadian fashion stylist became close friends with Markle when the actress moved to Canada for the filming of Suits. Mulroney and her husband Ben reportedly had the couple over for private dinners.

6. Serena Williams

"We are both the same age, have a penchant for hot sauces, and adore fashion, but what connects us more than those things is perhaps our belief in exceeding expectations—our endless ambition," Markle once declared on the retired website, The Tig. Markle rooted for her girl at Wimbledon once before, so it could be Williams's turn to return the favor as the bride-to-be walks down the aisle.

7. Jania Gavankar

The True Blood actress is Markle's friend of over 15 years. They both keep in touch and often interact with each other on social media.

8. Markus Anderson

The Soho House Consultant is tight with Markle and reportedly played matchmaker for the couple in May 2016. According to royal commentator Katie Nicholl, Harry asked who Markle was and contacted Anderson to arrange a private meeting with her. "He asked Markus if he could set up, not a date, but an opportunity for them to meet and that happened in one of the private rooms of Soho House."

9. Priyanka Chopra

Both actresses have been friends for a while, and Chopra has been known to be protective of Markle. Chopra spoke out to defend her friend when a Vanity Fair profile focused more on Markle's relationship with Harry. "It would have been nice to write about her not just her boyfriend. I'm just saying. I mean, she's an actor, she's an activist, she's a philanthropist. I mean, she does so much more."

10. Patrick J. Adams

Surely her onscreen love interest on Suits must have a secure spot in Markle's exclusive party. Rest assured, Harry, Adams only sees his offscreen relationship with your fiance as a sibling. In an interview with Esquire, the actor said he deleted his social media posts after getting a negative response from a photo of the two together. "I posted this old photo I had found of Meghan and I on set," Adams said. “I went to bed, and woke up in the morning and realized ‘Oh, yeah. I live in a world where you can’t post things about Meghan.’ We’re like brother and sister, it’s not like it was lurid or anything, but it just became a story that people wanted to talk about."
