Trump Economic Advisor Defends Trump by Claiming 'the Lord' Created Executive Orders and the Backlash Was Swift

Trump Economic Advisor Defends Trump by Claiming 'the Lord' Created Executive Orders and the Backlash Was Swift
MSNBC

After negotiations between congressional lawmakers stalled regarding another economic relief package in the face of the pandemic, President Donald Trump issued a series of executive orders aimed at achieving Republican goals for the stimulus package.

The orders include a payroll tax deferral, the reconsideration of evictions, the waiving of student loan payments, and the cutting of expanded unemployment benefits from $600 to $400.

The legality of Trump's executive orders is questionable, with many of Trump's critics—and even some of his allies—saying that these orders undermine the fiscal power held by Congress.

White House trade advisor Peter Navarro seemed unbothered by these concerns in a recent interview with MSNBC's Chuck Todd.

Watch below.

After Navarro hailed Trump as "the hardest working President in history," he continued:

"The Lord and the Founding Fathers created executive orders because of partisan bickering and divided government. That's what we have here, but the president has taken action."

People were stunned by the bizarre assertion.

Others were frustrated with Meet the Press host Chuck Todd, whom they felt didn't adequately challenge Navarro's misleading or false claims.

The criticisms come only a week after MSNBC moved Todd to a 1 pm slot, instead of his old slot at 5 pm. The move was widely seen as a demotion.

Meanwhile, Navarro proudly shared the interview with Todd on his Twitter account.

Space Force Commander Fired Over Email Criticizing Vance's Greenland Comments

Vice President J.D. Vance and the wider Trump administration are facing criticism now that Colonel Susan Meyers was removed from her post as commander at Greenland's Pituffik Space Base after breaking with Vance in an email she wrote following his controversial visit to the island territory.

Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, alongside the Faroe Islands, the only other autonomous territory within the Kingdom. Citizens of both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are full citizens of Denmark. As one of the Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union, Greenland’s citizens are also recognized as EU citizens.

Karoline Leavitt Dragged After Making Mind-Numbing Claim About Trump's Tariffs Reversal

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is getting called out after she attempted to justify President Donald Trump's sudden reversal on his proposed tariffs, telling reporters that his actions make sense because he has a master plan to make the world bend the knee.

Trump declared a full 90-day suspension of all the “reciprocal” tariffs that took effect at midnight April 10—except for those on China—in a dramatic about-face from a president who had long championed his historically high tariff rates as permanent.
