Pete Buttigieg made a very exciting announcement on his Twitter page and most people are extremely happy for him.

United States Transportation Secretary and former 2020 Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg and his husband, Chasten Buttigieg, announced the birth of their children.

The Buttigieg couple posted a picture of themselves holding their newborn children—a pair of fraternal twins.

The post reads:

"Chasten and I are beyond thankful for all the kind wishes since first sharing the news that we're becoming parents. We are delighted to welcome Penelope Rose and Joseph August Buttigieg to our family."

Buttigieg made political history by being the the first openly gay Cabinet Secretary confirmed by the Senate. Others held the cabinet offices in an acting capacity without Senate confirmation.

He also threw his hat in the ring as a Democratic candidate for the 2020 presidential election against Republican candidate and former President Donald Trump.

While Buttigieg ended up dropping out of the 2020 presidential race, he was appointed and confirmed as Secretary of Transportation by President Joe Biden.

Buttigieg posted on Twitter last month he and Chasten were going to be parents, but the process wasn't "done yet."

He wrote:

"For some time, Chasten and I have wanted to grow our family. We're overjoyed to share that we've become parents! The process isn't done yet and we're thankful for the love, support, and respect for our privacy that has been offered to us. We can't wait to share more soon."

In an interview with The Washington Post, Chasten said he and Pete had been in the process of trying to adopt for over a year. He described the process as tumultuous, saying it was "a really weird cycle of anger and frustration and hope."

Twitter is full of wholesome responses to the newly expanded Buttigieg household.

Chasten, a writer and teacher, said he would tell his future children "we tried so hard for you. We waited so long for you."

American YouTuber Arrested After Sneaking Onto Remote Island And Leaving Diet Coke For Uncontacted Tribe

24-year-old YouTuber Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov was arrested after making contact with one of the world's last uncontacted tribes, making the perilous and ill-advised journey to North Sentinel Island and leaving a coconut and a can of Diet Coke on the beach as a gift to the Sentinelese.

Polyakov, 24, arrived at the northeastern shore of North Sentinel Island at 10 a.m. on March 29, according to police reports. He used binoculars to survey the land but saw no one. He then climbed ashore, leaving behind a Diet Coke and a coconut, took sand samples, and recorded a video, the authorities said.
