Peppa Pig Celebrated Pride Month On Instagram—And Homophobic Trolls Predictably Lost It

Peppa Pig
Nick Jr.

The beloved cartoon pig's Instagram account was swarmed with hateful comments after she posted a 'Happy Pride' message.

Conservatives were up in arms over Peppa Pig celebrating Pride month.

The official Instagram page for the animated series kicked off the LGBTQ+ celebration with a post, saying:

"🌈 Happy Pride Month 🌈 Here’s to celebrating love.❤"

The accompanying image featured the titular female piglet with her friends standing in front of a rainbow with the words "Happy Pride." The group included Penny Polar Bear, a character introduced as having two mothers.

Homophobic trolls blasted the post. It follows a trend among brands and companies like Target and Walmart honoring Pride and subsequently facing backlash from anti-LGBTQ+ conservatives.

Here is the post from Peppa Pig's Instagram page.

Conservatives who feared their kids were being indoctrinated by a cartoon celebrating love aired their grievances.

Kyrsten Sinema And Joe Manchin Give Dems And Labor Unions The Middle Finger With Vote

Outgoing Independent senators Kyrsten Sinema (Arizona) and Joe Manchin (West Virginia) gave Democrats and labor unions the middle finger by siding with Republicans to oppose confirming President Joe Biden's renomination of Lauren McFerran for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), which will let President-elect Donald Trump seize control of the board next year.

NLRB is the federal agency responsible for safeguarding employees’ workplace rights. Sinema and Manchin's decisive “no” votes doomed the nomination, as all Senate Republicans also opposed it. Only one of their votes was needed to secure McFerran’s confirmation.
