People Are Absolutely Thrilled About The Latest Addition To The Thanksgiving Day Parade

Manga fans rejoice at representation.

Dragon Ball's Goku will have his own balloon in the upcoming 92nd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade —and Japanese manga fans are excited.

Appearing in his Super Saiyan Blue form, the star of the animated franchise, begun in 1984, will feature prominently in the parade at 70-feet long, 36-feet wide and 56-feet tall. The standard balloon size for the parade is five to six stories high and somewhere around 60 feet long and 30 feet wide, according to HowStuffWorks.

A collaborative effort between Dragon Ball's, Toei Animation and Macy's Studio artists, this will be the first time a Japanese manga character will be featured in the parade, according to a video posted by Funimation.

In the video, you can witness the artists at work on the balloon's design:

Toei Animation proudly announced the balloon on Twitter:

Commenters on Twitter are excited about Goku's upcoming appearance:

Whetting fans appetites for more, Goku's appearance in the parade celebrates the upcoming North American release of the feature film Dragon Ball Super: Broly inJanuary 2019.

There were some disputes over whether or not Goku is truly the first manga character to appear in the parade (as the video above notes):

Derek Padula, a "Dragon Ball scholar," according to his Twitter profile, and author of the book Dragon Ball Culture, made this prediction:

If the balloon looks as on point as the design, there's little doubt that when Goku makes his appearance in the parade, longtime fans of the hero will be shook.

Fox News reporter Alex Hogan made an awkward admission about how Greenlanders feel about President-elect Donald Trump's threats to buy the island territory, noting that "most" don't support or appreciate his push to take control of it.

Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, alongside the Faroe Islands, the only other autonomous territory within the Kingdom.
